A great day in Elmhurst, Illinois -
A constant mist out of the east gave way to dry conditions with just a few minutes before the parade stepped off at Wilson and Spring Road. The community gathered and watched as over 110 entries marched north. Maybe it was Irish luck or fortune, because ten minutes after the parade had ended, the rains returned. Who ever was in-charge of the weather did a good job - thanks!
Those who marched in the parade, and those who came out to watch, all had a fun filled afternoon - a good time was had by all in attendance. Net profits are donated back to the Elmhurst St Patrick's Day Parade Committee.
The Parade Committee extends a huge thanks to all of those who volunteered and participated. It's a team effort that makes this a great parade - every persons contribution assisted in making for an entertaining, safe and memorable experience. Also a special recognition to all of the sponsors who supoport the parade. Thank you for helping, marching and coming out to view the parade.
And finally, (and hopefully it will always be,) it's a small local parade for Elmhurst! We look forward to planning next years event - the 15th annual parade - Saturday - March 12, 2011 - See you there!
